Three ways to scan
- Image files — click the drop zone or drag images in; multi-select supported;
- Pasted screenshots — capture anywhere (Win+Shift+S / Cmd+Shift+4), then Ctrl+V on this page;
- Live camera — click Start camera and hold a code in frame; each detection is added to the list (~10 decode passes per second).
Auto-detected content types
After decoding, the tool classifies each result by its content prefix so you know what the code does:
- URL (http/https), phone (tel:), SMS (SMSTO:), email (mailto:);
- Wi-Fi (WIFI:) — shows SSID and security type (the password is displayed as-is; handle with care);
- vCard (BEGIN:VCARD), calendar event (BEGIN:VEVENT), geo (geo:), SEPA (BCDC:);
- Pure numbers and plain text.
Won’t scan? Check in order
- Sharpness — blur and low resolution are the most common failures. The tool decodes in two passes (downscaled, then full size);
- Obstruction — if the three corner finder squares are covered, recovery is unlikely;
- Contrast — light code on a light background is hard; shoot straight-on with even lighting;
- Type — QR Code is supported now; Data Matrix, PDF417 and other 2D formats are on the roadmap.
Privacy
Every image is decoded in your own browser (local jsQR engine). Images and results are never uploaded. Camera permission is requested only while the page is open; Stop or leaving the page releases it.

Are my images uploaded?
No. Decoding runs entirely in your browser.
Do you support Data Matrix / PDF417?
QR Code for now; other 2D formats are on the roadmap.
Does the camera need permission?
Yes. The camera is used for local decoding only — nothing is recorded or uploaded. Stopping or leaving the page releases it.
Can I scan multiple codes?
Yes — multi-select images, and the camera appends a result every time a new code is detected.
How do I export a result?
Each result has a Copy button.
