Online UPC-A Generator
13 one- / two-dimensional barcode formats, check digits computed automatically.
What is UPC-A?
UPC-A is 12 digits: 1 number-system digit + 5 manufacturer digits + 5 product digits + 1 check digit, allocated by GS1 US. It is the default product code for North American stores, e-commerce (Amazon US) and WMS, and is equivalent to an EAN-13 with a leading 0 removed.
Encoding rules
- Enter 11 digits; the check digit is computed (mod 10);
- Already have a 13-digit EAN-13 starting with 0? Drop the leading digit to get the UPC-A;
- The two guard bars on the left are built in per print spec.
How to generate a UPC-A barcode
- Type 11 digits (e.g.
12345678901); - Confirm the check digit;
- Set height per North American packaging practice (30 mm common);
- Download PNG/SVG.
Typical uses
- Products exported to the US/Canada;
- Amazon US listings (the product barcode behind the FNSKU);
- Receiving and cycle counts in North American DCs.
